The latest Ring App version has removed the Modes option. We use that feature all the time, will it be coming back or if not, why was it removed ?

Hi @Shykesz. The Ring app is currently only supported on iOS and Android and will function correctly on both platforms. I looked into what operating system Chromebooks use, and it looks like they use ChromeOS. It would be best to use [Ring.com](http://ring.com/) on a web browser on your Chromebook to view your Ring devices.

The original concern in this thread of the Mode buttons not displaying on the Ring app dashboard was resolved in a previous app update. If you open the Ring app and do not see the Mode buttons on the dashboard, please try the following: - Please ensure you are on the correct location in the Ring app. If you are on the location titled "All Cameras", you will not see the Mode buttons. Tap the location name in the top center of the Ring app to change to the correct location. - Make sure you have the latest version of the Ring app and your phone's software for the best performance. You can read more about mobile device compatibility [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/4812209807124-Mobile-Device-Compatibility-and-the-Ring-App). - If you have a VPN on your phone, disable it or exclude Ring traffic. The Ring app is not compatible with the use of a VPN, so it can cause performance issues. Should this concern persist after reviewing the steps above, please follow up with our support team at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). If you are outside of the US, please visit [here ](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/213608406)to see how to contact support.

This just happened to me after my last update. I went to ring.com and tried to reactivate MODES and to my great dismay see that it's not an error. They actually now want us to upgrade to ANOTHER LEVEL of my subscription plan in order to use this feature again? Are you kidding me? So I can't turn my ring on and off at will with the click of one button unless I pay for a higher subscription than I am already paying for (Protect Basic has already crawled up to $49.00/mo!). They now want $10/mo for "unlimited devices." This is the ONLY device I own. So now anytime I want to walk in my door, I have to wake everyone up OR I have to pay an extra $70/a year? How can Ring hold us hostage like that? It's ridiculous. I've tried all the snoozes and other settings, but they all seem to be device specific. So even if I turn it off in MY app, the alerts still come in on other devices inside the house. Disarm was the only way around that. I spoke with their customer service on the phone and she said "that's just the way it is now". I think I have no choice but to move on from Ring. This is a terrible move on their part and they need to rethink this strategy before we start dropping like flies.

Hit the thieves where it counts. Their pockets. Keep spamming their forums with your dismay and move to a new service if they keep their heads up their bums. I too, only own ONE device I wanted recordings from (A spotlight cam) so there is literally NO WAY I will pay $50 more. Period. This is some scandalous ordeal. You will not win the battle of making my comments private. You will have to ban me, dear. You all picked this battle with your bad decisions. I have all my replies on speed-dial on WordPad and ready to copy and paste it back over and over. Next step, Giving bad reviews all over the web including BBB, Youtube, and all over social media sites. I know they don't care, but I do. That's how I roll.  I will do all I can to dismay people from buying your subpar products from now on. Thanks!

I guess they think the public is dumb.  "Lets make the basic function difficult to do, so people will UPGRADE.  Really???  Make it difficult to Arm and Disarm????   Sounds like it's time for a class action lawsuit!  Meanwhile, I'll just add another less than $100 Blink camera.  Do they realize that by me not disabling the camera when it should be, that they can enjoy hours and hours of useless recordings that they will have to store for 180 days? FU to the persons responsible for this decision.
