The way cell bacup works isn’t helpful. Normally I use self monitoring. Before going on vacation, got some more cameras and then forced into the 1 month trial with cell backup. The thing is, I have satellite internet which has less liveliness than fiber. So 3 days into trip. Bad storm. Satellite outage. System switches to cell backup but doesn’t ever come back to normal sat internet. After 24 hours on cell backup, can’t even see events, let alone live view. As I didn’t set up my teamviewer this trip, can’t remotely reset sat modem as suggested. At end of all of this, Ring went offline 3 days into trip with no way to recover it. Total waste of time. Ring needs to fix bug where system gets stuck on cell backup or provide remote reset capability. Offline system is useless!
Hi @user41773. The Ring Alarm system should come back online once a strong enough WiFi signal is present. If this is not happening, I suggest reaching out to our support team to see what is happening during these instances. Please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available here.
