Ring alarm base station battery won’t fully charged

My one week old base station (gen 2)when plugged in shows that power charged and full. Tried unplugging it and battery immediately changed to about half charged (around 40%). Tried it a couple of times and the same thing. Is my base station battery defective? Any input would be much appreciated.

Hi @mnherm. The battery for the Ring Alarm system is designed to be used only as a backup power source for up to 24 hours long. I would recommend contacting our support team to look into this for you. They will be able to run some diagnostics and determine if there is an issue.
