My Ring 3 doorbell battery isn’t lasting very long and draining quickly plus it’s missing lot’s of movements. The settings haven’t been changed . Will a factory reset solve this or is there a fault. ?
Hi @user36767. A factory reset could help, but before doing so, you can first try going through these steps to see if they help with missing motions:
-
Optimize your Motion Settings for your Doorbell. One example of this would be increasing the Motion Sensitivity of your Doorbell. If your Doorbell is battery operated, you also want to look into its Motion Frequency and set it to Frequent, which could drain the battery quicker but helps prevent missing motion events.
-
If you have Smart Alerts enabled, disable them to see if it makes a difference, or vice versa.
-
Verify your Doorbell’s signal strength, also known as RSSI, is at a good level.
Regarding your battery draining quickly, we have this Help Center article with steps to try. I hope this helps.
