Ring 2 battery wont fully charge

Battery won’t fully charge. I bought ring abiut 2 years ago. Do i need to either charge longer (i already charge it overnight) or need a new battery?

My Video Doorbell battery only works no more than 48 hours after full charge or even replacing with a brand new battery…

Hi neighbors! There are a few different troubleshooting tips and tricks you can try when the battery for your Ring Doorbell is draining quickly or doesn’t appear to be holding a charge. These troubleshooting steps will help you narrow down if the cause of the concern is the battery itself or the Doorbell. Please try the following:

  • Check your Event History to see how many events your Doorbell is recording each day. This includes dings, motion events, and Live Views. If your Doorbell is recording a large number of events each day, this will use more battery power and cause you to have to recharge your battery more often.
  • Fully charge the battery using the provided charging cable in a standard power outlet, then reinsert it into your Ring Doorbell. Reset the Doorbell by holding down the setup button for at least 20 seconds. Once this reset is complete, set the Doorbell back up in the Ring app using the steps under Set Up a Device.
  • Review the Power Settings tile in the Ring app to see all of the features enabled that may be using a lot of battery power. You can tap on each setting to adjust the feature to use less power if it may be impacting the battery life of your Doorbell.
  • If you have an additional Ring Quick-Release Battery Pack available, fully charge this battery and insert it into your Doorbell. See if the battery drains as quickly as before or if you notice any difference.
