Proper Height for Sloping Yard

I have purchased a spotlight cam for the front of my house. I need to put it on the covered front porch (100 year old house). The porch is up about five steps from ground level, and from there the front yard slopes down another six feet or so or so to street level. The porch ceiling is eight feet. If I install it above the front door to catch activity on the porch, will it be too high to monitor activity at street level–sidewalk, drive, etc.? Thanks.

Unless someone has a similar setup to you then likely you’ll just have to try. You can tilt them down some, and if not enough you could put a shim (or similar) to mount it onto your porch with.
