I bought my first Ring Spotlight camera a month ago, and with it comes a small reminder at the bottom of of the app to “Purchase a Ring Protect subscription or loose your recording history”.
Clicking that opens up an overview on what a ring protection plan offers, and a video on how to purchase it.
The video takes a few minutes to explain; open your web browser, and enter in a URL.
My question is, why isn’t there just a clickable link to that page in the first place?!? Or even a button to just subscribe from my phone.
The less than ideal Customer Experience has honestly been the reason why I let my trial end without already paying for a subscription; I’m just too lazy to watch a video, or explore payment options myself.
Yep - I find it deeply suspicious that there’s no link, no price, no mention of data security - these are the hallmarks of a Scam… I’m pretty sure it isn’t but at best it demonstrates lack of awareness of online scam signatures. Just one of many disquieting issues. Did you ever find out how much it costs?

You’ll be able to find information on pricing and features on either of those links, as well as information on how to subscribe since you cannot currently subscribe via the Ring App.

I can’t find a button or page to subscribe to a protect plan either! It just keeps redirecting me to a set up page when my stuff has already been set up and in use for a month! So stupid.
