I have a Ring Doorbell 3 Plus that has never worked properly since I bought it in November. Video freezing and choppy sound constantly. Live view does not connect 90% of the time. I have it on 5ghz wifi, Rssi is 46. I’ve tried restarting camera, restarting the router, moving the router closer, using a WiFi extender with no change. My WiFi speeds are well above 200mbps on a bad day and the router is 20ft away from the doorbell. Is the camera itself faulty? I’m fed up trying to rectify the problem myself and constantly rebooting both the camera and my internet.
Hi @JenM1069. Thanks for sharing a lot of details on what your setup is and what problems you’re experiencing. While a 5Ghz connection is faster, it doesn’t reach as far or as reliably as a 2.4Ghz connection. I would suggest trying to connect your Doorbell to a 2.4Ghz network rather than the 5.Ghz, and you should see a more consistent and reliable performance from it.
