I purchased a Ring Security Cam Mount. It came with a minute installation guide booklet. It shows the mounting of the round terminal block and the connection of the cam to the mains (240v) circuit using the supplied screws. The diagram clearly shows that the mounting plate has 4 screw holes but the diagram shows only 3 screws in the installation kit. Has anyone else who bought the security cam mount version had the same problem?
I have just found another problem. I was unable to upload a jpeg image without an “optional tag”. None of the optional tags are relevant to my problem so I chose one to get access to the help forum. Someone needs to fix this!
Hi there, @KaySee! Thank you for sharing your experience with the Community. As shown in our Spotlight Camera Mount installation video, only two screws are needed to mount the cover to the junction box, however, you can use all 3 if you’d like to. As we always value our neighbors feedback, consider this shared with our teams here for consideration.
Feel free to also add this request on our Feature Request Board. This way other neighbors can share their interest in one place, that we can organize and share with our teams here.
I agree that the terminal block which is fixed directly to the wall only needs 2 screws. However the camera mounting plate which fits to the terminal block has 4 screw holes but only 3 were supplied. Leaving out one screw looks odd and also allows water ingress because the hole is not sealed.
Hi, @KaySee! The screws in your accessory bag are in a slightly different order than shown in the manual. You should find 3 grey anchors, 3 long wall screws (2 each of these are needed with 1 spare) and then 5 mounting plate screws, with washers already applied. These are the screws you need to attach the mounting plate. I hope this helps!
