Plastic covering doorbell camera

The protective plastic covering the camera portion of the doorbell is cracked and chipped away which is distorting all the videos. How can I remove the rest of the film without damaging it. See attached pic.

@atrobinson67 Hard to tell from the picture but is that the film that was on it when you took it out of the box? If so that isn’t designed to be left on and should be removed at time of install. You might get it off by carefully using some rubbing alcohol or similar but need to be done carefully.

Thanks for your reply. I believe that is the protective film. I didn’t install the doorbell, I didn’t realize that it was still on there until recently. I tried the rubbing alcohol but it really didn’t budge it. I’m guessing because it’s been on there so long.

I accidentally removed the film and it’s very sticky underneath. Is this normal? I hope I didn’t take it off incorrectly and was supposed to leave it on?!?

Hi neighbors! As @bemak187 suggested, you can use some rubbing alcohol to try and carefully remove the protective film or any dirt or debris on the Doorbell’s lens, but the protective film is meant to be removed at the time of installation. If you’re not able to get it off or there’s any permanent damage to the lens, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available here so they can look into this further with you.
