Hi @Sweetmelbelle. The installation location is up to you, as everyone's home and front porch area will vary. If you feel the existing doorbell circuit is too far to the side of the door, you can opt to purchase a battery powered Doorbell and install it on the door frame so it is closer to your door. We also have [Corner Kits](https://en-uk.ring.com/collections/accessories/products/corner-kit-for-video-doorbell-pro) for the Doorbells, which allow you to adjust the viewing angle towards your door. This could also be an option if you choose to utilize the existing doorbell circuit with a hardwired Doorbell.
