Patch cable purpose?

I purchased a system recently and saw that the box labeled “Keypad Adapter” had a patch cable inside, but the keypad does not have a RJ45 port. The Base station does.

Does anyone know what the ethernet cable is for? If it is for the Base Station, its only a couple feet long. What would it be used for?

Hi @USBCguy. The port on the Base Station is to connect it to your router/modem for internet. This is an ethernet connection point. The Keypad connects to the Base Station wirelessly.
