Older version Gen-2 Stickup Cam has BETTER video quality than the newer version Gen-3, why?

Our Gen-2 Stickup Cams have better video quality than our Gen-3 Stickup Cams. Our Gen-2 look fine, but our Gen-3 for the most part look pixelated/blurry. We replaced some of our Gen-2 with Gen-3, and are disappointed in the down grade in video quality. This surprised us, expecting better quality with newer, not lesser quality. Why is that the case as the specs don't explain it. Thanks for reading.The reason for the replacement Gen-2 to Gen-3, was a couple of them went bad and had to be replaced.
