Older Solar panel not adequately charging cam battery in new ring battery cam

Hi there. I had a ring battery cam that went down in a storm. I've got the latest version replacement -- only thing is it's not being adequately charged by the solar panel I have.
It says it's charging in the icon but each day the battery goes down by 1% -- I have it in direct sunlight. Help?
