  Hi @user48284. You need an active [Ring Protect subscription](https://ring.com/protect-plans) in place to have access to video recording. If you did not have a Ring Protect plan at the time that an event occurred, you will not have any video available of it to view. Once you have a Ring Protect plan, you can control how long your videos are stored for by adjusting the [Video Storage Time](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360047871752-Understanding-and-Adjusting-Your-Video-Storage-Time-). It's important to note that once a video is deleted, it cannot be recovered.
