Now no more location!

As of yesterday 2/19 my Car Cam will not locate the car. It worked yesterday at a mall, then when I got home it never updated the location. I deleted the history in location and now it says " Could Not refresh location) Learn more. I have a clear view of the sky, and perfect cell reception. Still wont update my location. Terrible

This is the same concern we have been having with location for the last 2 days. Our car cam location will show at times and other times it is showing our last location from 4 hours ago even though we are across town now. GPS in the car cam seems to be slow at updating. Not sure how reliable it is at this time.

I am also having this same issue, except for me it was between 2 cities hours apart, the GPS never updated during the entire trip. Has the support phone number actually been useful in solving this problem? I don’t want to waste my time.

I am now having this issue of the Car Cam location not updating automatically or manually if I hit “update location” on the map in the ring app.

Very frustrating, it seems this product was not ready for a full public release. Maybe some more beta testing would have helped improve the end user experience.

I have seven ring cameras/doorbell, all the “Pro” versions that mostly work great, but the car cam is just not at the save level.

Location problem also. Sometimes works and other times doesn’t. We have two cams and sometimes says both vehicles are at the same location, which is false. This morning, no work and this afternoon, works fine. Tried everything to figure out and gave up.

Ring Car Cam location worked accurately for a few days, then quit updating. “Update Location” completes without indicating an error, but it shows an old, incorrect location. Turning location sharing off and back on doesn’t help. Clearing history doesn’t help.

Come on Ring, either get this fixed now, or refund our purchases so we can buy something that works.

Pull the power until the the blue light goes out, and plug back in. After 5-10 minutes the location started working again. Would be great to have a remote reboot option.

  • Verify location services are enabled in the Ring app for the Car Cam.

  • Try tapping “Update Location”

Same issue here on three Car Cams. Location tracking doesn’t work at all. It’s delayed by hours at best and jumps back and forth between previous locations. Worthless. Our old Hum devices worked perfectly to track location almost in real-time. It also provided vehicle diagnostic codes. Come on Ring. You can do better. I feel ripped off and won’t be paying for cellular service for these devices!
