I have 20 camera’s, 3 Wireless with Solar (all with 2 batteries) and 17 hard wired including a doorbell. When iOS 16.1 was introduced my ring notifications were delayed randomly anywhere from 10 minutes to 24 hours. Installing iOS 16.2 seemed to solve this issue however over the past 5-7 days, my notifications are once again delayed. Today I installed iOS 16.3 hoping to restore the immediate notifications from the app. Unfortunately they are still randomly delayed, sometimes up to 10 minutes. At times the first camera zone to have motion is the last to report motion. My RSI is < 55 on all but 2 camera’s, those 2 are 62 & 72. I am having the same delays regardless of camera or signal strength. I’m not sure this if this is an iOS issue or an app issue with iOS 16.X. Prior to iOS 16 my notifications would appear within seconds on my phone or iPad. I know there are certain setting that can delay notifications, can someone with Ring please share which settings will slow notifications, i.e snapshot, HDR, live preview enabled etc… I am certain these delays are a combination of iOS and the App not working as efficiently as they did prior to iOS 16 but am hoping by changing settings I can return to receiving motion alerts within seconds again. If it matters I do have the Ring protect plan.
Hi @Mtgldr. The setting that can delay notifications is Smart Alerts, but not by minutes. I would try these troubleshooting steps for your concern:
Reboot your router by unplugging it for 10 seconds and plugging it back in.
Reset the network settings on your iPhone and then reconnect it to your wifi network.
Disable any active VPNs.
