I’m not able to hear anyone who rings my doorbell. They can hear me but I can not hear them. I’ve checked the recording later and there is not sounds from the visitor but there is from me. I’ve checked the settings on my phone and it has access to the microphone
Hey @Steve1190! Good call on checking microphone and speaker permissions. Try also removing and reinstalling the Ring app on your mobile device to ensure it is up to date and optimally integrated. Please also check for any vpn that might be active, or even bluetooth. If possible, testing on another mobile device can eliminate many potential factors. If you are using android, please check for any android apps that might conflict with the Ring app. I hope this helps!
Hello, thank you for replying. I’ve had the doorbell for nearly a year now and have had no problems. It’s only stopped picking up sound in the last week. My other outdoor camera is still picking up sound so I think it’s the actual product rather than any of my settings on my phone. Do you have any suggestions considering this?
Hi @Steve1190! In this case, a reset will be the best next step. On your Doorbell, press and hold the setup button for 20 seconds. This will perform a reset on the device. If this concern is persisting after the reset, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available here. We’re taking additional steps to protect our team and help reduce the spread of COVID-19, so this has resulted in longer than normal wait times. If you are outside of the US, please read our response to COVID-19 here to see how to contact support.
This hasn’t helped sorry. What are options now? I’ve tried to call the Ring number but can not get through to anyone
@Steve1190 Due to COIVD-19 and the holiday season, you may experience a longer than normal wait time when reaching out to our support team. However, our support team will be the next step in getting this concern resolved, as they can take a look at your device and account and offer more advanced troubleshooting support.
