No Live View in Rapid Ring for a Video Doorbell Pro

Your system status mentioned a live view issue on June 10 that has been resolved. But it has NOT be fully resolved.

There remains an issue for many of us who have the first Video Doorbell Pro and the Rapid Ring app(iOS and Android). It will no longer show a Live View feed for the Doorbell Pro… It always times out at “Waiting for Video…” and fails 100% of the time. All other devices(floolight cams) work perfectly in Rapid Ring. It is specific to the original Doorbell Pro. This has been going on since last week.

The full normal Ring app works perfectly for live view on the Doorbell Pro, so it is not a signal issue. This is specific to Rapid Ring ONLY. There is a thread on the Ring Reddit group about it with many people having the same issue.

Please look into this. Maybe Rapid Ring needs an update, as it hasn’t been updated in a couple months.

I’ve got the same setup and the same problem as described. Rapid ring has the issue. Standard ring app works fine. “Waiting for video” then times out. I’ve had to revert to the standard app for notifications and interactions with the doorbell.

  • Test the Live View on both cellular data and wifi connections to see if one connection type works over the other.
  • Test the Live View on the regular Ring app to see if it works without issue there, as it may be a better option for you than the Rapid Ring app.

Same. Doesn’t work in rapid ring, hasn’t worked for about two weeks. Have done everything suggested including deleting the app, turning off the phone and reinstalling.

Works absolutely fine in the normal ring app, just the rapid ring not working.

Same issue here. Regular Ring app works, Rapid Ring gets stuck on “waiting for video” and fails. Nothing is wrong with any connections, etc.

Having the same issue here. Ring Doorbell Pro isn’t working in the rapid ring app but is fine in the normal app. All other cams work as they should in the rapid ring app. What’s the solution since nothing you have suggested here works to fix this issue? This just started yesterday and is quite frustrating. The rapid is best for immediate response to motion notifications so I would prefer a fix for this. Standing by for a solution….

And the latest Rapid Ring update did NOT solve the issue either.

None of those work. I have tried on cellular and 2 different wifi networks, in 2 different states.

The regular Ring app works PERFECTLY in all situations. This is specific to the Rapid Ring app ONLY and from what I have seen from others, it is also specific to the ORIGINAL Doorbell Pro ONLY(my Ring floodlights work perfectly in Rapid Ring).

Please have your systems people look into the combination of the ORIGINAL Doorbell Pro and the Rapid Ring app.

No update of the app but still, it seems to work again.
