No live view and stuck on activating device
It's been months since the live view worked on my ring doorbell. RSI is fine and has good connection with the device, however every time I try live view, a black screen with activating device comes up and nothing will happen. I've tried resetting it multiple times to no avail.

Hey @krnken! Thanks for sharing your experience with our support team. I'm glad to hear that your new device is now working as intended.

My subscription just lapsed and this issue not so mysteriously appeared again. This has happened to me once before and only during the short time that my membership was not active. I suspect Ring of deliberately disabling the live view during this time so that you are incentivized to pay. I have no reason to suspect otherwise since the live view feature works fine otherwise.

LI'm edging towards this too. I have had the free trial with zero issues, had 3 months of paid with zero issues, and then as soon as I let my membership expire.. boooom Doorbell issues with activating in the mornings every day! Activated a new camera I had stored, this added another 30 day trial.. no issues. I did zero work on my wifi, device settings, placements....pretty much the only thing I did was add another pro trial to my account. I've come to conclusion that it is in fact the membership. Free = Cowboy Service Pro = Best Service I've not tried Basic yet.

We have the exact same issue. Live view is worthless, which means that my 3 ring devices are worthless. We are very close to ditching ring for good. Is there a solution?

Curiously, live view stopped for me too (as did the motion zones) the day after the trial subscription ended

JSame here ever since my Trial run out I have this issue, WiFi is fine (I am an IT engineer) like other people are saying when the trial or subscription runs out the coincidently happens and becomes useless, I certainly won’t buy anymore Ring products or recommend them to friends again

BI'm a paying customer at $10/month and we have a non-functional live view. Does Ring monitor and respond here? This is ridiculous.

I’m having the same issue with my Doorbell 2. It is NOT a problem with my WiFi. Hoping yet another post complaining about the Live View problem will spur Ring to finally take action.

I had this exact problem with the ring video door bell 3. After a lot of debugging I noticed the ring video doorbell kept switching IPs and wifi. Due to the switching it would drain the battery very quickly as well (after 1 day I'd be at 90%) I tried a number of things to help resolve this issue which included: 1. Reset the doorbell 3 times 2. Connected to a dedicated wifi signal (RSSI score is 54) 3. Set up the doorbell to a Static IP. 4. I reinstalled the Ring app on all phones 5. I installed the Rapid Ring app to see if that would be better (it wasn't) None of these things worked. I called customer service (who was great BTW) and walked through the various things I did and ultimately they felt that it might be a malfunctioning device. They sent me a new device to try out. I installed the replacement (which was the same model) and that fixed it immediately. I didn't see any ip or wifi switching and I could connect to live view immediately. It's been about 2 weeks now and the replacement doorbell is working great and the battery life is great as well. Currently Reporting 94% after 2 weeks. If you haven't found a solution yet and if you have a subscription, I would encourage you call customer service and try to get a replacement doorbell. Hope this help!
