I just installed my ring video doorbell pro and it has killed 2 transformers in a matter of minutes. I don’t have a regular doorbell. I just run 120 to a 24v transformer.
Without an existing chime kit, you will be wiring this directly to wires coming from the transformer. The best way to accomplish this is with the Pro Power Kit in bypass mode, as described further in the One Ring Doorbell Pro Direct to Transformer wiring diagram below.
Please also ensure the chime selection is proper in your Ring app. While logged into the Ring app:
- Visit the Main Menu (three lines top left).
- Select Devices.
- Select your Video Doorbell Pro
- Tap the Device Settings tile
- Select General Settings
- Visit the Internal Doorbell Settings and select “None” if you are not using a chime kit.
