My Ring doorbell has been connected to the solar panel for over a year and was working fine. It was able to recognize the solar panel and indicated that it was connected to solar.
Until recently, my Ring doorbell shows low battery and cannot live view. It does not recognize the solar panel, but I know it is charging. When I cover the solar panel to block the sun, the Ring doorbell shows full battery and I can live view again. When I uncover the solar panel, it’s back to low battery and cannot live view.
Or when the sun sets and there is no more sunlight, my Ring doorbell shows the accurate battery and I can live view again.
Apparently, when the Ring doorbell is being charged, it indicates low battery. It simply does not work while charging, either hardwired to your power or through solar. This looks like a software issue. Can Ring address this?
