For the past 2 weeks, I get many random motion notifications. Some during the day and some at night. They will come in bunches of 5 or 6 and be every 2 or 3 or 5 minutes or something like that. No pattern. When I look at them, I usually get a gray screen with a black bar across the middle. But some simply say “no video” and some are video but nothing there at all. None of this has ever happened. Any ideas?
Hi @mmeisler. What is the RSSI for your Doorbell? When you are getting this error, are you on WiFi or cellular data? Try viewing these videos on Ring.com to see if you have the same results. I would also try rebooting your internet router to improve the video quality.
For the frequent notifications, you can adjust your Motion Settings or try a Motion Snooze.
Interesting. The RSSI number right now is 71 so that is low. The funky black bar was when we were overseas using wifi but the doorbell was obviously here. When I look on Ring. com some of them still have no video. Some say cannot create video and some are just dark screens. I can try rebooting the router. That won’t hurt.
As for the frequent notifications, this was never an issue before and just is now every so often. It is not linked to anything so I don’t see a need to change the settings or use a Snooze. Something is seemingly malfunctioning at times.
Hey @mmeisler. In addition to rebooting your router, I would suggest making sure that you are you using the correct ports and protocols used by Ring.
