Motion settings when it's windy

I use an indoor cam to monitor my garden through a window. It's useful to know when the cats want to come in when the French doors are closed.However when it's windy the motion of the plants and trees set off the cam a lot during the day.I have set the motion sensitivity to the minimum setting yet it still picks up plant motion. There is a new smart motion option, but it gives an option to record people only. Will this setting pick up animal movements too?
