Motion sensor not working

Doorbell rings, Live camera works, but Motion Sensor is not detecting and therefore not triggering chime nor turning on camera.

Hi @JP-in-OR. Can you let us know which model of Ring Doorbell you have? Additionally, would you mind sharing a screenshot of your Motion Zones, motion sensitivity slider, and Motion Frequency settings? I’d be happy to take a look and see what suggestions I can recommend. :slight_smile:

I am having the same problem. My battery is charged and I can get the live view to work through the app, but the motion sensor is not coming on.

Hi @Ellie10. I try to toggle Record Motion off, then on. Also, make sure that your Doorbell is not in a Mode that would prohibit motion detection. This should help!

Everything is working on my iPad, but not on my iPhone. I’ve been through all the settings, toggled everything on and off, etc. It is set to “away” mode , so should be detecting everything.

I recently upgraded my iPhone but not my iPad to the new iOS and wonder if there needs to be an update from Ring to coordinate with the new iOS update?

Hi @Ellie10. There was just a new iPhone update, 14.2, and I have full function with my personal iPhone with the new update installed. If you’re having issues, try this: Remove the Ring app, reboot your phone, then reinstall your Ring app. Let me know if this works!

Thanks Tom. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app yesterday, along with shutting off all notifications on the iPhone and then turning them back on. One of those 2 things got the motion sensor working again.
