Motion detection: cars but not cats!

My camera picks up people but not cars. If the delivery van backs in I don’t receive a notification. I have a long driveway so I need to see who is driving in as well as walking in. If I take off smart detection (people only) then I pick up the cat or squirrel every time one walks by. I see from this forum that I’m not the only one with this problem. Surely the AI should be able to distinguish between a car and a cat! Is Ring just being complacent in updating software capabilities?

Hi @user77219. Let’s start with the specific model Ring device you have and troubleshoot from there. Different devices have different Motion Detection capabilities, so let’s make sure your cams motion detection is configured for optimal performance.
