I would like to use modes but for some reason when I setup my stick up cam to disable live view and motion recording in home mode it still gives me motion alerts…why would I get motion alerts when I’ve specifically set this cam to not record motion at all?
Or, make notifications a mode setting as well, without one of the two solutions it makes modes essentially useless imo.

Yes @mjrtoo , you are correct when you state that the Alarm Modes, which can be used to modify the behavior of your cameras, does not have any effect on the ‘pushed’ text-type Notifications that you get on your Ring App. Notifications for ‘Motion Alerts’ is currently “always” or “none” regardless of the Alarm Mode.
If you like the idea, besides the current ability to modify the behavior of camera’s “Motion Detection” and “Live View” with the **Alarm Modes, you also want to to modify the behavior of “Motion Alerts” (the Notifications) **then you are NOT alone! Although there are several regular forum posts already, asking to have this currently unavailable feature, the Feature Request Board forum is where Ring Team look to see what people might want. And the more “Thumbs Up” Kudo votes the Ring Teams see there will better get their attention, increasing the chances of them providing that request. You should add your Kudo vote, if you like the requesting author’s idea (add your “Thumbs Up” Kudo vote on the left side of the author’s starting post), to help get the attention of the Ring Teams on the links below (these are similar requests for this feature option, so I’ve probably missed quite a few others):
