I just installed my Ring Spotlight Cam Battery (with Solar Panel). It works great, and it a nice compliment to my Ring Doorbell. The main reason I installed the camera is to catch motion in my backyard near the property line…about 70 feet away. I’ve put in two shrubs in the last two years and both times they’ve been destroyed. Could be deer…could be the neighbors kids…and I want to know.
Anyway, I want to maximize the distance the motion detection will work. Ring recommends installing the camera 9’ up to get a 30 ’ coverage. Is there anything I can do to improve that distance? Raise the camera? Point the camera more upwards? Both?
