Lost Sensor Removal

How do you remove a lost sensor from the ring application? All instructions state to remove battery and hit remove button, not helpful when you don’t have the sensor

Hey @Lacrosse. To manually remove the sensor, please go into the Ring app > Main Menu > Devices > Alarm Base Station > Sensor to remove > Gear Icon at the top right > Advanced Options > Remove Failed Device > Remove. This should kick it off the system for you so you don’t have to worry about seeing it there anymore.

@Chelsea_Ring Hi all reviving this thread. We moved and left the sensors to our station at our old house. We are wanting to remove them from our base but want to ensure they are still usable by the new occupant if desired. If the lost sensor process is followed will they still be usable?

Hi @Supersleepy. Yes the sensors should still be usable and the new occupant should be able to set them up with the Base Station without issue. If the new occupants run into any problems setting the sensors up, they can find instructions on how to perform a factory reset on the sensors in our Help Center Article here. If a factory reset doesn’t do the trick, they can reach out to our support team at one of the numbers available here. If you are outside of the US, please visit here to see how to contact support.

Steps are different in the latest Ring App release. (For Android) Not sure about iOS. I assume steps are the same.
Go to Ring App > Devices > Select Sensor > Device Settings > Advanced Options > Remove Failed Device.
