Losing patience with Ring doorbell
wifi
troubleshooting
Hello, Pardon my rant but I am so frustrated with the Ring doorbell. I never know whether it is working or not and so many times now we have had visitors or deliveries who press the bell, hear the chime then when we don't answer they go away. Problem 1 - Ring should indicate it is offline to visitors so they can rely on the far more reliable method of knocking on the door. Instead it chimes so they think it is okay. Problem 2 - Ring should tell me when it has gone offline. P.S. Dont bother telling me to reset this or reboot that, or read post this or post that. Life is too short. . I have umpteen Wi-Fi devices and the Ring is the worst by far.

Hi @dbacall. If your Doorbell is going offline due to a weak RSSI, I suggest getting a Chime Pro to help boost it's signal. If it is going offline do to power, we have a few power options available [here](https://ring.com/collections/accessories?filters=category:video-doorbell-wired,category:video-doorbell-pro,category:video-doorbell-pro-2,category:video-doorbell-elite,category:video-doorbell,category:video-doorbell-2,category:video-doorbell-3,category:video-doorbell-3-plus,category:video-doorbell-4,category:peephole-cam,type:power-battery) that can help with this. Also, be sure to check you email settings to ensure you are getting critical information about your Doorbells status.

I have the same issue with mine! I purchase a WiFi extender and my house is 900 sqfeet. It’s constantly Offline and haven’t been able to get it working once. The ring is exactly next to my modem and still says it’s offline. I had a geeni and it worked better but did not have nightvision.

You need to contact them and hope to talk to someone that really knows what they are talking about. Most of the time it is something inside your settings. I had the same issue in the past and it took multiple phone calls before I actually found someone that could help and now things work somewhat good.

Hi neighbors! There could be several different reasons why your Ring Doorbell may be disconnecting from wifi, and checking the RSSI first is always a good call as the RSSI is a measure of the strength of your Doorbell's wifi connection. You can read more about RSSI in our Community Post [here](https://community.ring.com/t/how-it-works-your-ring-device-rssi-good-vs-poor/229#M4), and find some additional wifi troubleshooting steps in our Help Center Article [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020044511-How-to-Make-Wifi-Work-For-You). If these concerns continue to persist, you can give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406) and they can take a deeper look with you. If you are outside of the US, please visit [here ](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/213608406)to see how to contact support. :)
