Live View timeout
I bought the Ring Stick Up Camera Elite in order to monitor my dog in the backyard, while I work in my home office. Live View appears to timeout after 10 minutes, which defeats my primary purpose for having this camera. I'm going to reach out to Ring support by phone to see if they can turn this limitation off on my account and report back. This is stated nowhere in any of the product literature and is a terrible design flaw, which will result in my negative review.

Look, obviously this is not a design flaw, nor is it broken. I can understand when RING wasnt owned by Amazon this 10 minute timeout being implemented because the inventor of RING didnt have the resources that Amazon has. I am sure it is to avoid using loads of storage and resources, however, Amazon can afford to do this. I mean, you are probalby already using AWS to store all this data, just allow it. OR, offer a different membership where you charge more for this option. Or offer an option where you dont store the data nor process it. Stream it locally on customers network to their other Amazon devices, web browser etc, on their local LAN.

RWe have been voting for this feature for over 3 years and the issue has existed for over 5 years. Caitlyn, when can you provide information to us about what the developers are saying about this requested feature and specifically what the ETA is? We have waited 5 years for this feature and many people are returning their Ring cameras very often because this 10 minute time out is pathetic. Can you get us some sort of response from the developers? thanks

Just make it possible to live stream indefinitely, but sacrifice the ability to record/store. Call it baby monitor mode or something. Competitors (e.g. Nooie) allow indefinite live stream

So what I do it use a google chrome plugin that auto refreshes the website every 9min 30sec. I rarely notice the actual refresh and has been working for me. Plugin is called "Easy Auto Refresh" Open Live View and start the plugin. Hope this helps!

I have just found a workaround as of last night.... I hope. I have Rapid Ring on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A8. I open the Rapid Ring app and activate the video for my Peephole camera. I leave it open and running, I then go to homescreen, which minimizes the Rapid Ring app, which is still running in the background. I open my Xumo app and just let The Price is Right with Bob Barker play continuously. Rapid Ring has not stopped recording video since I tried this as of last night. My Rapid Ring video will normally time out after an hour or more and then I have to keep retouching Reconnect, just like the Ring App. Hasn't stopped for more than 10 hours now. Still recording the videos just like normal in Event History. I can now have live streaming on my Lenovo tablet much longer without having to keep touching reconnect on the Lenovo every 10-30 minutes. Maybe this is the holy grail.

I'm guessing the reason Ring won't alter this most basic parameter (Live View timeout), is there Cloud based architecture. Basically, they don't want to pay for more bandwidth. Note: As more Ring cams are sold and installed, *Live View* went from 10 minutes to 40 seconds. **Bummer!** I'd also post your dissatisfaction on Amazon. I recommend Axis for multi-camera installations. Yes, Axis cameras cost more and you need a local recorder. But there's no monthly fee, and you can get tech support. Rod

MNot sure what you mean by 40 seconds but all video recordings in my Event History are 10 minutes. Have been since day 1, 2-3 years ago. I did go into the Settings/Apps/Rapid Ring on my new Samsung tablet and set the App timeout to 23 hours 59 minutes. Maybe it'll be continuous that way for 24 hours. The live view does record for 10 minutes until it auto refreshes itself every 10th minute.

Hi neighbors! Your Ring Cameras and Doorbells do not record continuously or 24/7. When you activate the Live View, it will timeout and need to be reconnected after 10 minutes. We appreciate your continued feedback on this, and you can vote on the feature request for an extended Live View time frame below. https://community.ring.com/t/extend-the-length-of-live-view-24-7-recording/4507 If you're having any concerns with your Live View not working or disconnecting before 10 minutes, please try the troubleshooting steps in our Community post on Live View [here](https://community.ring.com/t/ring-live-view-not-working-or-connecting-ring-troubleshooting-tips/249).
