Little frustrated with Video doorbell

Ring Video doorbell does not pick up on all activity, sometimes has a day off, just wondering if i have the settings right new app update doesnt allow distance to be selected, can anybody help with this please

In addition to motion settings, there are other features within the Ring app that can impact motion, such as Modes or linking devices to trigger motion.
