Lack of PoE options

Disappointed that the new Doorbell Pro 2 doesn't offer a PoE option. I am aware the Elite is available but it lags behind on features now. Given the effort to install the Elite, especially on a brick house it would be good to see and updated version/Doorbell Elite 2. Does anyone know when the Doorbell Elite was first launched?
