Intermittent operation

Hi,
I’ve just set up my Ring video doorbell pro and have hit an odd snag.
I can see the camera from my phone, a number of my Alexa devices and my FireTV. The light on the device is solid blue.
At this point, the door bell will not function.
If I press the button once, the light goes almost grey, I can press the button and the chimes work.
Any idea what I’ve set up wrong?
