In away mode, alarms instantly on back door open, but not on front door open

Our Ring system has a magnetic sensor for both the back door and front door. In away mode, if we come in the back door, the alarm goes off instantly, as soon as the door opens. If we come in the front door, the system allows 60 seconds for entry.

In the Ring app (desktop version, in Chrome browser), in Settings/Modes/AwayModeSettings, EntryDelay is set to 60 seconds.

How do I make the sensor for the back door conform to the EntryDelay setting?

Hi @MgFrobozz. It seems like you have your back door Contact Sensor Placement set as a Secondary Door. If set to this setting, if the door is opened when armed, the siren will sound immediately. Change its Placement setting to Main Door. To do so, follow these steps:

  • Open the Ring app
  • Choose the menu button (three lines in the upper left corner).
  • Select your Alarm Base Station
  • Select your Back Door Sensor
  • Tap Device Settings
  • Tap Placement
  • Select Main Door and hit Save on the top right

Let me know if this helps!
