Ring Alarm
I only want my ring camera to record motion if my ring alarm is set
is this a possible function? I dont want motion detected all the time as the camera will be in a living room

Hi @user59793. The answer that @Dazzman1 provided is correct - you can control whether or not your Ring Camera will detect and record motion within the [Modes settings](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360036107792-Control-All-of-Your-Ring-Devices-with-Modes). Please be advised that you need an active [Ring Protect Plan](https://ring.com/protect-plans) subscription to have access to Modes and video recording.

You can change what the camera does in the mode settings for home, away and armed so for the home setting you just need to disable the option.
