I attempted to change my email address, and the account verification function in both the mobile app via text and in the web browser is in a loop. I am receiving the access code via text, and once I enter it, the system sends me an email asking me to verify my email address. I recevie the email, but there is no link to verify the new address. There are only 3 lnks in the email;
one link is to “change your password if you did not initiate this”
the second link is to “set up 2-step verification”
the third link is “tips and tricks”.
I have tried to contact support through phone and chat (chat will only direct me to the phone contact) but it’s useless, as the support line takes me through the same broken verification process. So I’m currently unable to access my ring account as well as ring support.
We are just fellow users and have no access to your account information, so you’ll have to continue to work through Support.
You may have to insist on speaking to a supervisor who may be able to assist you better.
Hi @harrisrb. Our support team can help with getting your email address changed to the correct one. You will need to reach out to our support team at one of the numbers available here. You mentioned that you weren’t able to speak to anyone due to not being able to complete the verification process, but you should have an option to speak to someone without completing the verification first.
I called the support number to confirm which options are available. First, select option 2 for assistance with a Ring Protect plan or Ring account. Then it will ask if you want to complete verification for an expedited experience, or you can press option 1 to speak to someone before completing verification. This should allow you to get connected with our support team so you can explain what’s going on and they can help get this resolved. Let me know if this works for you.
