I bought a new house with a ring doorbell attached.

In Texas when you buy a new house , the house and everything attached to the house like by screw or nails is the purchassers property. My new house has an attached ring. The widowed 80 year olsd prior owner doesnt use internet. Moved to Chicago and is not reachable. I am the physical owner of the attached ring but cant register it??
