My brother has a cheaper and more basic ring doorbell to me and he can view things which have happened at his door afterwards. HE DOES NOT SUBSCRIBE TO ANYTHING.Since my "free trial" ended I can't view any videos.I get loads of notifications that there is motion at my door but by the time I click on live view there is nothing there anymore. So if my house was broken into I would have no evidence!! Is this right??

Hi @user36672. If you want your Ring device to record, you will have to subscribe to one of our Ring Protect Plans. We have this page [here](https://ring.com/protect-plans) with information on the plans we have available. We also have this Help Center [article](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360030333671-How-to-Subscribe-to-a-Ring-Protect-Plan) on how to subscribe to a plan.
