Hi @Ellen33. Snapshots and recordings are different from each other. [Snapshots](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034355652-Timeline-Security-Snapshots-Using-Snapshot-Capture) are not videos; they are still images that the Camera will take that are only viewable in the Event Timeline History page in the Ring app. You are able to [adjust the frequency](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034443672-Using-Your-Snapshot-Capture-Feature) with which they are taken. The recordings that automatically occur will happen when your Camera detects motion. The [recording length can be adjusted](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001858043-Adjusting-Video-Recording-Lengths-for-Your-Video-Doorbell-or-Security-Camera) for these recordings. As for your Camera stopping motion recordings automatically on a schedule, that is not available.
