Hooked up wires to ring from original chime. It worked. Once I hooked up to WiFi original chime don’t ring

Hooked up Ring door bell to original wires and Chime. When pressed the original chime rings. Connect to WiFi . Did all the steps. Online Press doorbell it rings on phone. But not original chime rings. Also batter seems not to be charging
