Hi I’m new to ring.
Can anyone tell me if the ring doorbell automatically changes between home and away mode when I leave the house ?

No it doesn’t connect to it. It’s for the alarm only. You can set the alarm to link to the doorbell and record video if the alarm goes off. But the doorbell doesn’t get controlled by away or home feature.
