Hardwired - Yes but not showing as
So, I have the ring 2 doorbell and the battery does not fully charge anymore, no blue light when charger plugged in, can’t seem to solve this, and Ring don’t seem to want to help, keep telling me to do a reset and don’t reply, and now it’s over 12 months old so that’s the warranty gone.So thought I’d get a mains transformer and that would save me having to replace the unit. The problem I have is that although it is hardwired it still shows as battery as the power supply.I’ve put an avo on the cables and the easing is as expected, I’ve restarted the bell but still shows as power supply as battery. Any ideas?

Hi @Welshie. Hardwiring a battery-operated Doorbell will only trickle charge the battery while it is in use; therefore, hardwiring it will make no difference if your battery is no longer charging as it should with a charger.
