Just installed a floodlight cam wired and at night the lights keep turning on every few minutes. No motion was being detected.
In desperation I’ve turned off motion detection, turned off lights and even set a schedule for the lights to be off from dusk to dawn but they still keep turning on randomly every few minutes.
Unfortunately it has been almost 4 years since I first bought the camera so the firmware must have been well out of date and when first set up today it took a few hours and a few resets before the firmware showed as up to date. On my dashboard the firmware shows as 1.16.00179.
From what I’ve read in other posts I very much suspect this is not the latest version? If so, how do I force an update??
Either way, I need to find a solution fast as I dont think the neighbours will like the lights coming on randomly every few minutes and as hardwire I have no way to disable the camera!
Going from bad to worse! The lights still stay on almost constantly despite no motivations. And now the floodlight cam has lost connectivity to WiFi and I cant get it to go into set up mode or to hard reset it. So I have a camera that does nothing and lights I cant turn off! An expensive waste of money.
Hi @LesC. Try turning your Floodlight Cam off at the circuit breaker. After 5 minutes, turn it back on. Your Floodlight Cam should enter setup mode and allow you to reconnect to WiFi now. Once reconnected to WiFi, your Floodlight Cam will automatically update it’s firmware. I hope this helps.
Hi @LesC. Thanks for attempting that. Since you’ve tried my suggested troubleshooting steps to no avail, please follow up with our support team. You can also get in touch by sending a private message @Ring on Facebook or Twitter.
