Floodlight cam is buzzing loudly
This afternoon my floodlight camera started buzzing very loud and continuously. I have to turn off the power to or to get it to stop and it restarts once power is restored. RSSI is great, nothing has changed in the 2 years I've had it, device health is good, firmware is to to date. Activating live view doesn't help, with or without activating 2 way. The buzzing is audible on video taken with the app as well. Any ideas? Attached a video taken with my phone.

I pushed the reset button on top of the floodcams camera and the buzzing went away, however, i had to hold reset twice for 20 second each. The first reset turned on the floodlight. The 2nd reset turned off the buzzing. I then had to reconnect the cam to my wifi network. Now my cam is working normally, without buzzing sound.

CHi, @user20961 . Thank you for the possible fix. I've had this Spotlight cam for over 3 yrs w/o any issues and it just recently started emitting a buzzing noise. I'll try your solution when I get home. Finally, someone with a possible solution other than call support, contact support, blah blah blah.

Hey @stg-ring. Thank you for taking the time to write about what is happening with your Floodlight Cam and sharing this video! There could be a concern with the wiring or the device to make it produce this loud buzzing sound. Please disconnect the Floodlight Cam from power, then reach out to our support team at one of the numbers available here for further assistance.

BHaving the same issue with my Floodlight. Called tech support, we did a hard re-start but it didn't work. Loud buzzing sound persisted. Was advised to return the unit to Costco.

PSame issue here. WiFi connection is perfect so the floodlight cam’s health check. Nothing for almost the pas 2 years since we had it installed. It got disconnected from the WiFi for some days though. What can I do remotely? Best Regards, Patrick

I appear to have the same issue. We were woken up at 3:00 AM to the buzzing noise from the speaker. While the noise persisted, the camera and floodlight seemed to work just fine. The only issue was the buzzing that woke my family and my neighbors. I reset the power at the panel, and the noise stopped. I certainly hope this is not a recurring issue, and look forward to a resolution being posted to this topic.

THi @RetroRanch. To build upon what Chelsea said earlier in this topic, this buzzing is often related to power and how this is wired. If this concern persists, I would recommend reaching out to a licensed and trusted electrician. An electrician will be able to diagnose any power related issues related to your cameras wiring. I hope this information helps!

If you're hearing any sort of buzzing noise from your Floodlight Cam, here are some basic troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this concern:- Consult a qualified electrician to review the wiring to your Floodlight Cam to ensure everything looks like it's installed correctly. You can find installation instructions here. - Power cycle your Floodlight Cam by disconnecting power at the breaker for about one minute before reconnecting power. - Reset your Floodlight Cam by holding down the setup button for at least 20 seconds. After the reset is done, set the Camera back up using the steps under Set Up a Device in the Ring app. If the buzzing sound persists after trying these steps, or if you have any safety concerns with your device, please get in touch with our support team for further assistance.
