Flood light manual light won’t stay on
I have a floodlight camera that I want to use the light in manual operation. It is simple to turn the light on manually but I can’t figure out a setting to stop the light from turning off automatically. Please help.

I’ve been experiencing something similar. We have been going out at night to play basketball and the floodlight (connected via bridge) keeps turning off. It eventually detects motion again and comes back on but is very annoying and slow. I’ve tried turning on manually AND setting light schedule but it continues to turn off after a minute or 2. Please help

PI too am experiencing the same issues. Whether a schedule is set or you try to turn on all lights manually, the lights will eventually shut off within 1-2 minutes. EVEN if you set the off cycle to 5 minutes. I think a software update should allow manual override allowing you to turn the lights on/off with the app. If it's overridden manually any schedules or motions should not cause the lights to cycle on/off.

DAny resolution here? I would like my lights to stay on indefinitely. I set a schedule in the app that they turn on at dusk and turn off at dawn, but they still only activate with motion and turn off after a few minutes.

Same here. It just won't stay on. My wife wants to be out in the evenings and no matter how I set the controls, the light just shuts off after a bit. It takes motion to get it started again. Even the manual override switch - although turns it on - it just shuts back down. Very frustrating.

Interesting. I don't have a floodlight cam, but the message put out about the new light scheduling does clearly say that the light should come on at dusk and stay on till dawn with no dependence on continued motion. Indeed, without the schedule, the light will only stay on as long as there is motion regardless of the maximum time you select. But, again, scheduling is different as you point out. https://community.ring.com/t/feature-update-camera-light-schedules/48587 You have done the right thing in posting here as I find the moderators often to get to the bottom of these issues, or other users can help figure things out. In the meantime, have you done the basic troubleshooting like making sure your ring app is up to date, your phone ios is up to date, and you have strong RSSI signal to the floodlight cameras?

I'm having the same issue. I have an older floodlight cam in the front that I have set to stay on dusk till dawn and it does. A new floodlight cam (installed last week) on the side that I set the same schedule in the app, on dusk till dawn 7 days a week, but it turns on with motion and shuts off after 1-2 minutes. Would love a resolution to this. I've tried deleting the schedule, closing the app, then going back in and creating the schedule again. It's quite annoying as even though the road is outside the motion zone, the light turns on every time a car drives by.

Hi, have a house that has multiple floodlight cameras. All settings the same. If manually turn on one will stay on just fine but another with same settings will turn off after random amount of time. I'm wondering if it's possible the camera looses connection to wifi briefly and reverts to a built-in timer if/when that happens? Otherwise I can't think of any other reason the light will turn off when manually set on just one but not the other.

Hi @jtjamhawk! When toggling the manual lights toggle in the Ring app, your lights will enable for only a set period of time. After some time, they will likely turn off. When toggling your lights, keep an eye on your Ring app screen for any duration controls that might pop up. Otherwise, the light duration can be changed within the motion settings to stay on longer, although I know that is not what you are looking for. We've seen neighbors power the Floodlight Camera off then on, using a physical switch, resulting in longer illumination, but this is not intended use and should only be used for safety override or power cycling the Camera. Check out our [help center article](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004155866-Controlling-the-Floodlights-and-Light-Settings-on-Your-Floodlight-Cam) to learn more about manual lights control. As we value our neighbors' feedback, we've created a [Feature Request board](https://community.ring.com/t5/Feature-Request-Board/idb-p/Feature_Request_Board). Feel free to add this and any future feature requests there. This will help us to organize and share your requests with our teams here, as well as allow other neighbors to comment and add interest, all in one place. :)
