False Door Rings and a non-stop rapid ringing

Several times a week my doorbell rings for no reason. Nobody out front and no motion. Also, about once a week now the doorbell will get into a rapid ringing almost like an alarm clock going off and it doesn’t stop until the battery runs down. It’s very frustrating and loud. No diode and I recharge it so there is no constant electical connection.

Hi @NorCalDoorBell. This sounds like what we refer to as “Ghost Dings”. How old is your Doorbell? Ghost Dings can happen when the internal parts of the Doorbell button break or come loose and will randomly make a connection. When this happens, it will cause a Ring event in your app and it might even sound continuously until the connection is separated. To further assist you in determining if this is the case, please contact our support team. To help expedite your call, be sure to take pictures of your Doorbell transformer, Chime kit and wiring on your Doorbell. If you are unable to get these, no worries!
