Expected voltage on a 1st gen blackplate?

Like a lot of folks, my hardwired 1st gen doorbell stopped charging. Support wasn't a lot of help, told me to charge via USB for 8 hours and monitor further.Poked around with a multimeter, the transformer was putting out 20 volts AC at the screws, no problem, but outermost gold contacts on the backplate only got me 0.7 volts AC. Is that the expected value?

Hi @dustland.crow. Would you mind following up with support regarding the voltage reading you're getting on the backplate for your Doorbell? If the problem is isolated to that, they may be able to see if they can send a replacement part for it, or troubleshoot further if the Doorbell itself needs replacing under the [warranty](https://ring.com/warranty). You can give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). If you are outside of the US, please visit [here ](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/213608406)to see how to contact support. Feel free to report back here on what solution the support team recommends. :)
