Doorbell wired, always blue light

Hi everyone!
I have been trying to install this device for the second time. Both the first one I tried (I returned it and was sent a new one) and this one have the same problem. When I connect it to the Ring plug in power supply (https://amzn.eu/d/eNSNiUR) a blue light appears on the button. After set up on the App the light remains blue and not rotating white as expected. Why? Have I bought the wrong power supply?

Hi @Bombadil. A solid blue LED light indicates that the speaker is enabled. You can find more information here.

Hi Tom.
Why is the speaker active? I have only given it the power.

Hi @Bombadil. The speaker should only be active if Live View is enabled and the microphone is unmuted.

So? I l’ve only linked to the power adapter, why this thing?

Hi @Bombadil. I am happy to chime in. The Plug-In Adapter 2nd Generation is compatible with the Ring Video Doorbell Wired. The link you provided is in another language I cannot read, but it appears you purchased the correct adapter. If you have powered up your Doorbell and it is not entering setup mode, try the following steps:

  • Press the setup button on the side of the Doorbell.

  • Reboot your Doorbell by pressing and holding the setup button for 20–25 seconds.

If you have tried these steps and it is not entering setup mode for you to complete your setup, give our support team a call for further assistance.

I’ve done all of these operations, I’ve just called the support one time and they sent me a new doorbell…that acts exactly the same way! Now they are sending me a new power supply…is it possible in your opinion both doorbells had the same problem?

@Bombadil. I am glad our support team is working with you to get your concern resolved. I don’t believe the second Doorbell would have been defective as well. I think that’s why our support team started looking into what other things could be causing this to happen.
