Doorbell ghost rings, draining battery & motion alerts turning off

troubleshooting

Our doorbell is hardwired, and last night through this morning it has been “ghost” ringing- ringing the doorbell for no reason what-so-ever. While checking the device health I noticed the battery is down to 79%, but since it’s Hardwired it shouldn’t be losing battery, right? I also noticed my toggle switch for motion alerts keeps toggling off on its own. I am in south TX where we’re experiencing much cooler temps than usual (in the teens) so I am not sure if it’s related to that or not. Is this happening to anyone else?

Hi @Txamars. Your concern for your Ring and Motion Alert toggles is related to this thread, which has now been resolved and should be working normally now. As for your concerns with your battery draining while it is hardwired, it can be due to extreme weather conditions. This Help Center page will give you information on it. Now for the ghost dings you are experiencing, I recommend rebooting your Doorbell using the Ring app to see if it helps. I also recommend looking at your wiring with your chimes circuit to see if there are any issues.
